Ilala Lodge in a Nutshell
Ilala Lodge is a 56 roomed boutique hotel in central Victoria Falls town with convenient access to the falls. Although fairly big, it still tries to retain a “lodge” feel to it – service and decor, is not over-the-top like the next door Victoria Falls Hotel. So this is a nice, relaxed and slightly more affordable hotel option for the Falls.

How to Get There
Victoria Falls is a destination for either the beginning or the end of you Botswana safari. The VF International airport is a 30 minute road transfer from the hotel. We can also easily arrange road transfers to the Ilala Lodge Hotel from Botswana (Kasane) and from Livingstone in Zambia. All roads for these transfers are tarred and in good condition. The VF airport has daily connections to Johannesburg.
Game Viewing and Activities
Although there are some game viewing options to be had in Victoria Falls, you should rather leave this activity for your time spent in Botswana. Rather spend your time taking advantage of the unique activities on offer in Victoria Falls. Download an activity list here.
The hotel has a booking office near to reception where you can easily do all your bookings directly.
Lodge Environment
This hotel is located very close to the Falls so you can sometimes see the spray and hear the noise of the crashing water. As a hotel option, we like the fact that it is not too “over-the-top,” so you can relax and know that you don’t really have to dress up for dinner or anything like that.
There are standard and deluxe rooms available available in both twin and double. There are standard suite rooms that have a king size bed and a 3/4 size bed that would be ideal for an extra child. Most of the rooms do have a view of the spray of the falls.
The Palm Restaurant is known to be one of the best in town and you can also enjoy an outside dining experience.
The grounds are lush and well kept and the large swimming pool is a great central point of the hotel’s layout.
